Robert Berry

ROBERT BERRY presents to us a new and exciting way of seeing landscape within the genre of contemporary realist painting.

His work demonstrates a fascination for the complexity of design in nature – the order that exists within the apparent chaos of wilderness – and a passion for re-ordering and re-interpreting this complexity to create powerful contemporary landscapes.

Berry lives and works in Hervey Bay, Australia, and derives inspiration from his surrounding environment, which includes Fraser Island – the largest sand island in the world.

He has exhibited widely and has works in collections around the world. His exhibition, On the Edge, toured regional galleries throughout Queensland and New South Wales in 2003-2004. In 2005-2006 he worked in collaboration with the Queensland Orchestra. His latest collection, Round the Strait, was exhibited in 2008.
